Independence Pass Ale

Independence Pass Ale

Independence Pass Ale is our super-hopped high altitude rendition of the classic India Pale Ale style. We couldn’t help but name our high-hop beer after Aspen’s eastern boundary and 12,095ft. high-elevation pass—maybe due to the delirious effect, or maybe because the initials just worked out well. You decide.

Brown Bearale

Brown Bearale

This sweet and chocolaty brew looks intimidating like the bears around Aspen, but finishes light enough to keep you thirsty for another. A popular brew among tourists and locals alike, whether you consider yourself a craft beer drinker or not. The Aspen area is full of black bears and many of them appear cinnamon brown. Before the brewery opened, a mother and her cubs took a liking to the dark and chocolate malts stored in Duncan’s garage and the name for this beer was born.

Conundrum Red Ale

Conundrum Red Ale

Conundrum walks the line between a malt-centric sweet ale and a hop-centric bitter ale so well, it’s tough to describe. Quite the conundrum indeed! This brew, like the gorgeous valley it is named after, is a local favorite.

Pyramid Peak Porter

Pyramid Peak Porter

This dark and delicious porter is worthy of its namesake Pyramid Peak, one of Colorado’s fiercest fourteeners.  Brewed with roasted, chocolate, and black malts, balanced with a heavy dose of delicious and earthy Kent Golding hops, this porter is just what the not-afraid-of-the-dark (beer drinking) person is looking for.

This Season's Blonde

This Season’s Blonde

A classic English style pale ale with wheat and honey malt flavor paired with bright floral and citrus hop flavors.  Aspen Brewing Company’s first “seasonal” offering was our Spring Blonde Wheat Ale in 2008.  It was such a hit we kept brewing This Season’s Blonde through that summer and year-round.

silver_city_ale

Silver City

Silver City ale is our kettle soured session ale.  Low in alcohol and big in flavor.  We took a unique approach in creating our house session beer, using a kettle sour technique to mimic the tartness of a lemon without using any actual citrus. Instead, the dry hop addition of Centennial hops contributes the floral, lemony sensation. This process gives a beautiful, bright, tart and sour flavor on the front while keeping a soft, pillowy and refreshing wheat flavor on the finish.
