TGIF and Super Bowl weekend! Unfortunately the snow fell on the Front Range last night, and unless you have a sister to stay with in Nederland you aren’t ripping Eldora’s two feet of powder. Come prove to Uller that our spirits are high, and we can handle “packed powder conditions.” FREE LIVE MUSIC at the brewery this weekend: Lightning and Thunder kick it off tonight around 8pm following their gnar xgames set from last weekend. Brad Manosevitz takes the stage Saturday night at 8pm!

The Great American Ale Trail, by Christian DeBenedetti, is an amazing resource for beer drinkers everywhere. Wherever you live or travel in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, this book should be your guide to the best beers around. Whether its a brewery, brew pub, or great bar featuring craft beer, you will have “a roadmap for taste-bud adventure.” Come check out the book at the ABC before you realize you cannot live without your own!

(please take the bus, carpool, or ride your bike if you can, parking is limited)
Town is starting to fill up with funny looking tourists, we finally have some snow to be grateful for (even though it’s going to be -14 degrees tonight), and the Sheen’s have successfully put Aspen on the holiday celebrity map….again. For these things we are grateful and what better way to give Aspen an excuse to celebrate this week! Join us Thursday, December 8th to adorn our Aspen Brewing Co Christmas tree with your very own ornaments. Bring any and all ornaments you’d like us to hang on our tree and we’ll give you your first beer for $2. It will be our rendition of the Sardy House tree lighting, only nothing like it. Then on Friday, December 9th, to get you in the Christmas caroling mood, come listen to live local musicians Mark Nussmeier (Hurricane Carter) and the Gregger as they lay down multiple guitar loops, drum beats, and vocals to a packed house. Anytime these guys have played at the brewery we get tons of requests to get them back so here’s your chance to see them again. Set #1 will start right around 8PM so get here a little early if you want a seat. Finally, back by popular demand, will be our 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl on Saturday, December 10th! What better way to welcome in the opening day of Aspen Highlands than a tribute to your ugliest disgrace of a sweater (AKA amazing!). Make those poor sheep proud to have given you the tool to craft your Cosby masterpiece and parade it around Aspen all night. While the fur coats and cowboy hats come out of their off season hibernation, we’ll terrorize downtown at Aspen Brew-friendly establishments like Little Annie’s, Silver Queen, Sky Bar, and Red Onion. Meet us at the tasting room at 9PM to down a cold one before the onslaught begins. If you’re a bartender in Aspen receiving this, consider yourself warned!
Wow, we have a lot to be thankful for… A couple days ago there was a nice English couple in the tasting room and after offering them a pint, Danny discovered that they had found us through their Lonely Planet guide book! We had no idea that Lonely Planet even had a page for Aspen, let alone a spot with our name on it (not to mention the “Top Choice” icon next to our name)! Also mentioned was the Woody Creek Tavern, Victoria’s, Eric’s, and J-Bar. Thank you English couple and thank you Lonely Planet!
Then, a friend tells me that she saw us in American Airlines’ magazine Celebrated Living. Really? It is a feature about ski destinations and the apres scenes. We not only got mentioned next to the Little Nell and SKY, but the Aspen photo was of our beer! Check it out here: http://www.celebratedliving.com/aspen-garibaldi-lift-company-bar-nell-hotel Sick!
Finally, after months of delays with our equipment, the new brewery at the Aspen Airport Business Center is complete. We are anxiously awaiting our final inspections and our first brew day-hopefully this week! To celebrate, we have 20% off our merchandise online if you “like” our store, and bigger discounts on select merchandise in the Tasting Room on Hopkins ave. Sales will go through the weekend after Thanksgiving. Come by and celebrate with us…the Tasting Room is always open (noon-late every day).
Our beer will resurface in Bars and Restaurants throughout Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass as well as the Roaring Fork Valley soon. Request it at your favorite valley bar! Check our website for an up to date list of establishments serving Aspen’s finest brew.
In his current role as a personal chef to Rick Bourke of Dooney & Bourke, Chef Jason Casey travels year-round. Last spring he stopped by the newly opened Aspen Brewing Company to taste a selection of beers. Soon he began talking with owner Duncan Clauss about beer and food pairings.
