Tappin Tuesday – Single Hop Series IPA with Simcoe Hops

The second installment of our Single Hop Series, Simcoe IPA!  We took the wort (term for un-fermented beer) before hops were added in our standard IPA recipe, and added Simcoe hops exclusively for the bittering, flavor and aroma hop additions.  Yes, this beer was triple hops brewed too!  Come by for a pint and expand your pallet and understanding of what makes Independence Pass Ale.

Our Single Hops Series is like no other beer series on the planet, at least as far as we know.  We have begun to feature one hop variety in different beers to specifically showcase what each hop variety contributes to the end product.  It gives all of us a chance to see what the bittering, flavor and aroma characteristics specifically are.  Tappin’ Tuesday is when we tap these new experimental beers, Single Hop Series, Oak Aged and many more experimental brews.  Don’t miss out!

This Season’s Blonde is in liquor stores throughout the Roaring Fork Valley!

Heading out for an adventure this spring?  Take a six pack of This Season’s Blonde with you.  Our cans are now available in liquor stores throughout the Roaring Fork Valley!

Cans of This Season’s Blonde are finally on the shelf throughout liquor stores in the Roaring Fork Valley along side 750ml bottles of our spring seasonal Belgian Saison. Come by the Tasting Room on Hopkins Ave and try a pint or pitcher of any of the nine (9) beers on tap! Open noon to late every day – live music every weekend.

Come welcome the spring weather back with a pint of our IPA featuring only Citra Hops.  The first of many in our Single Hop series, and why not kick it off with one of the hottest hop varieties available and Independence Pass Ale?  Citra, as you may assume from its name, is a citrus-flavored hop packed with floral, grapefruit and pineapple aroma that will take you back to when you crashed your bike into your mother’s flower garden when you were ten years old.  Bam!

What’s the Single Hop Series you ask?  We want to showcase the diverse flavor and aroma characteristics of all the hop varieties we use in making Aspen’s craft beer.  Throughout the year we brew small batches of our main beers, using only one hop variety.  Know your beer, learn more about what goes into creating unique flavor and a balanced beer.

Holy Cans!  Yep, we just unloaded a full semi-trailer of This Season’s BlondeCans.  Just over 205,000 of them to be exact.

Oh yeah!  We did it, and you should come have a taste.  Our delicious Independence Pass Ale with a heavy dose of Citra hops…it’s the taste of spring we’ve all been waiting for.  ‘Nuff said.
