The second installment of our Single Hop Series, Simcoe IPA! We took the wort (term for un-fermented beer) before hops were added in our standard IPA recipe, and added Simcoe hops exclusively for the bittering, flavor and aroma hop additions. Yes, this beer was triple hops brewed too! Come by for a pint and expand your pallet and understanding of what makes Independence Pass Ale.
Our Single Hops Series is like no other beer series on the planet, at least as far as we know. We have begun to feature one hop variety in different beers to specifically showcase what each hop variety contributes to the end product. It gives all of us a chance to see what the bittering, flavor and aroma characteristics specifically are. Tappin’ Tuesday is when we tap these new experimental beers, Single Hop Series, Oak Aged and many more experimental brews. Don’t miss out!

Come welcome the spring weather back with a pint of our IPA featuring only Citra Hops. The first of many in our Single Hop series, and why not kick it off with one of the hottest hop varieties available and Independence Pass Ale? Citra, as you may assume from its name, is a citrus-flavored hop packed with floral, grapefruit and pineapple aroma that will take you back to when you crashed your bike into your mother’s flower garden when you were ten years old. Bam!
What’s the Single Hop Series you ask? We want to showcase the diverse flavor and aroma characteristics of all the hop varieties we use in making Aspen’s craft beer. Throughout the year we brew small batches of our main beers, using only one hop variety. Know your beer, learn more about what goes into creating unique flavor and a balanced beer.

This was brewed with pilsner malt, white wheat, oats, and honey malt in addition to aged and sterlings hops for an aromatic and hoppy brew. Look at this fat line-up of beers! Perfect for your Fat Tuesday celebration! And we’ll be tapping another delicious specialty beer today as we do every Tuesday. Oaked Red is today’s specialty beer, and it’s amazing. We aged Conundrum Red Ale on heavily toasted oak staves for six weeks. In addition, the temperature of the tank fluctuated daily to inspire more interaction between the beer and oak, creating a rich oak flavor within the malt and hop flavors of the Conundrum.
Come get a taste of this before it’s gone.
Fat Tuesday is all about indulging, and if you haven’t had a taste of the Over Easy Menu, you’re missing out. Come on by for lunch or dinner at the brewery.
